Back in 2015, when we had developed an initial version of our MyCareerMentor product, I thought we had a short distance to go to before we launched our first product: do an alpha test, make some refinements, do a beta test, make a few more changes, and then launch. Well, the path of progress did not turn out to be a quick one.
But in hindsight, I consider us lucky -- we got so much good feedback from our alpha and beta testers that our product has improved a great deal from that early version.

We completed our alpha test in mid-2015, and our beta test in early 2016, but it was not until late 2016 that we had made the changes we thought minimally necessary to respond to feedback from our beta testers. We had a few unexpected events along the way. In December 2015 we lost two of our original co-founders; they decided other life priorities were more important than participating in this start-up venture. We were lucky enough to recruit a new, very able co-founder in 2016, so we again have a strong team.
However, now we have launched our first products, and we are on the way to discovering whether users find our products helpful. Our biggest challenge now is in getting users to explore our main product, the online mentor MyCareerMentor, in enough depth for us to tell how much more content we need to add.
